Surprisingly, i haven't broken any kayak paddles yet considering that i do extreme kayaking! but i've damaged a lot of slalom kayak! the worst was when i took the worng line during an event & it broke the fron, middle, & the back of the kayak.

i also broke a demo kayak when we were paddling near this one chain bridge. and so on.... i can go all day telling my stories of how i destroy many slalom kayak. haha!

I've broken a kayak, the riot trickster one, because it just bumped into a rock. The it started splitting from the nose to the seat. Near death experience, i should say! *waaaaaah*

That's just me, i always tend to wear things out quickly.

So far, i've damaged some kayak.. alright, 4 kayaks! a couple of kayak paddles, snapped some backbands, and well.. destroyed some outfitting, helmets, & spraydecks! and many more! it's pretty normal, i guess...

I've broken a shaft. It just snapped near my hand grip! Another kayaking gear i destroyed is a boat! it was only a week old that time! and then it hit a really tough rock & the seat bolt was pulled right through

And i guess it's a common fault and incident during kayaking trips. And you're left with one solution: replace you kayaking gear with a new one!

Oh really? that's really dangerous, isn't it? That's one thing I'm scared of, if I lose my control of the kayak and it would bumped in a big rock. I mean, even if I have the appropriate gear, should I be comfortable that I'm safe with it?

I really do believe that prevention is better than cure so keep water sealants ready just in case something happens with our boat. As for breaking gears, I think the worst I broke was the paddle.
