Just one reminder.. you gotta know pretty well how to tire out a big shark because if you caught one and then get him into your kayak and he's still green, you better be prepared!

not even the intersecting part of lakes and beaches are safe, specially the ones uenclosed in a cove style island. Thats still risky. I remeber that scene from the movie" the beach". In that exotic island in thailand. that shar was just there! thats crazy. ill settle with lakes and rapids!

whatever happens, always wear your PFD! It should be in good condition and must be approved by coast guards.. And of course, its size must be properly suited for your body...

Well if it is your idea of FUN, so be it.
Just make sure you will come back in the open shore alive and you could still sing the famous " my toes, my knees, my shoulder my head".

I'd like to see a special forum here for kayak fishermen, FWIW.
But to speak to the question, I haven't done salt water kayak fishing, but I have hooked into some sizable pike up here in New York.
In a lake, it's not too bad, but when you get a decent fish on in a current, with downed and over hanging trees, it can get interesting real quick, unless you have more arms than I do (which is 2).
Tight lines, and I'd like to hear about your adventure if you decide to take a run at it.
