Return to Pier Race to be Held Jan. 19
WEDNESDAY, 16 JANUARY 2008
The Return to Pier Race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 19 at Santa Barbara, California. The race will begin and end near SBOCC's practice site located next to the Sea Landing in the harbor.
Registration will begin at 8AM. The short course will begin at 9AM and the long course at 10:45AM.
The short course will cover the end of Stearns Wharf to the mile buoy then slightly past the buoy and back, about 4.5 miles of open ocean. This is open to OC1's, OC2's, surf skis, double surf skis, paddle boards and stand up paddle boards.
The long course will be from end of Stearns Wharf to the mile buoy then up to the coast past Hendry's and back, about 9 miles. OC1's OC2's, surf skis, double surf skis, paddle boards and stand up paddle boards can also join this race.
All are open races. Participants are advised to be prepared and be aware of their skill level. Life jackets are required for all craft paddle boards and stand up paddle boards.
