  Climbing Film Makes it to Paddling Film Festival Amateur filmmaker Isaiah Walters sent his entry to the 2008 Reel Paddling Film Festival. Carl Junction Firefighter Drowns in Kayak Accident
  Carl Junction Firefighter Drowns in Kayak Accident Firefighter Marion Cox, Jr. of the Carl Junction Fire District drowned while on a kayaking trip last Saturday. He was found trapped in a submerged kayak at the Center Creek at Joplin Street, just south of Carl Junction. The victim was rushed to the Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
