Uttarakhand's Rafting & Kayaking Event Wraps Up

The enthusiasts from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi took part in the third all-Indian kayaking and white water rafting competition at Shivpuri, Uttarakhand, India. The three-day event ran from March 15-17.
Similar to other international competitions, the participants were categorized from one to five based on the ‘danger level’ of the rivers.
The State’s Tourism Minister Prakash Pant commended the initiative, saying such activity would help boost the state’s tourism potential. He said the state has ample opportunities for adventure tourism as there are so many rivers in it. Uttarakhand will also be hosting the South Asian Games (SAF) winter games next year.
