Kayaking Classes Offered at Charleston County Park

Charleston, South Carolina - The Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission will be offering Sea Kayak Instructional Classes and Kayak Quickstart Classes for teenagers who are 16 years old and above beginning May 23.
The program includes two hours of hands-on informal classes with certified instructors who will teach basic kayaking techniques and sea kayaking skills. The series of classes is suitable for beginners and advanced children who want to discover and experience sea kayaking at the James Island County Park. Advanced classes feature refinement of strokes and maneuvers for those who want to perfect their techniques in kayaking.
Other activities include local sea kayak trips at the Charleston Harbor on May 25. There will also be an introductory class on kayak rolling on May 26 and a tour in the Morris Island Lighthouse which features dolphins and shorebirds sightings on May 31.
Registration is required for all classes and programs. Special events are also held this month at the Charleston County Park.
