Kokatat To Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Arcata, CA. – Kokatat, the 39-year-old, soon to turn 40, independent .paddlewear and accessories company, is taking advantage of the annual Outdoor Retailer Market, to celebrate their 40th Anniversary with all their industry friends and family. Since 1971, Kokatat has established itself in the paddle sports industry and is excited to embrace this milestone with a Booth Party (#33051) at ORSM 2010, on Thursday, August 5, at 5pm.
Kokatat welcomes all friends, partners, and fans of the company to stop by for a beer and reminisce about the last 40 years of life on the water. Attendants are encouraged to wear Kokatat “historical garments” that they have owned over the years. The person bringing the oldest Kokatat jacket/paddling top will win a gift certificate for the same or equivalent jacket from Kokatat’s latest collections.
“Kokatat has been blessed with many great friends, networks, opportunities and successes over the past four decades,” Said CEO Steve O’Meara. “We are thrilled to bring in our 40th year at ORSM 2010 and celebrate with everyone that has helped shape who we are.”
Sponsored Kokatat athletes will also be mingling at the party, including Bryan Smith who will just be returning from National Geographic’s The Kamchatka Project and Drew Gregory, a new expert Kayak Fishing Ambassador for Kokatat. Freya Hoffmeister, who recently earned the record of the first woman to solo-circumnavigate Australia, will be on hand for a booth signing shortly before and during the party. Kokatat will be also be releasing a special 40th Anniversary tee shirt that will be designed directly from the winning submission of their recent graphic design contest. The theme of the contest, which entries are to reflect is “Into the Water Since 1971.” Sales from the t-shirt will benefit American Whitewater.
